Clematis crispa

The species Clematis crispa has light blue/white bell shaped flowers have very pointed tepals and when viewed end on look like stars, it flowers from July to September and is best hard pruned. Plant in sun or semi shade. Comes from the South east of the US and was brought to Britain C1726. Reputed to be a parent of C. 'Betty Corning' some forms are scented.
