Clematis montana 'Broughton Star'Clematis 'Broughton Star is a double flowered montana type, flowering slightly longer with good bronze foliage it is one of the best clematis introductions of the 20th centaury. Bred by Vince & Sylvia Denny in 1988 as a result of a deliberate cross between montana 'Marjory' and montana 'Pictons Variety' and awarded a British Clematis society certificate in 1998. For best results plant in sun or semi shade and avoid frost pockets which can cause loss of flower buds in spring. No prune.
