Rich purple flowers
in great profusion July to October with a hint of red plus red
centres it has a lot of impact. This is very easy to grow, an
ideal starter plant for new gardeners, it can be planted in any
aspect and cut right down in spring. Clematis 'Polish Spirit'
will reach around 4M in a season and will often remain evergreen,
despite this it is best hard pruned or it becomes very untidy.
Raised by Brother Stefan Franczak of Poland in 1989 and
introduced a year later by Raymond Evison It has an A.G.M. It is
on the borderlines of the viticella collection (being more
inclined to C. x jackmanii)
