The double purple red
flowers appear on their long stems from July to September, the
flowers last a long time on the plant as they cannot be
pollinated. Any aspect and cut back hard in the spring. A
wonderful easy to grow viticella variety.
Clematis 'Purpurea Plena Elegans' is now believed to have been
raised by Morel of France in 1900.
