Clematis 'Sodertalje' Sodertalje is a town in Sweden and is I am told pronounced Sodertella. The relatively large gappy red flowers are borne July to September; Clematis 'Sodertalje' is a very vigorous tough plant for any aspect, which benefits from hard pruning in spring. Raised by Magnus Johnson in 1952 and sold under the incorrect name of 'Grandiflora Sanguinea' for many years, the latter is a separate plant and the seed parent of Sodertalje. (And Carmencita) |
