Campsis 'Madam Galen'

This hybrid Campsis is vigorous and free flowering with orange red flowers in the late summer on the current years growth.  Hardy but needs hot sunny conditions to flower well. Not fussy as to soil type. Flowers on new growth and very spectacular in flower. of stiffer habit than radicans, hardier than grandiflora but not inclined to self cling or to be as invasive

Campsis grandiflora x Campsis radicans produced the hybrid Campsis x tagliabuana. 'Madam Galen' was a selected clone of this around 1889.
