Eccremocarpus scaber (red form)

This South American tendril climber has a reputation for being tender, but if the root stock is positioned to be under a sheltering plant or close to a wall with good drainage, then it survives well and will produce its bunches of red tube flowers from early spring to autumn. It is easy to replace from seed. (min -4c for top growth, root stock will survive lower temps)
Eccremocarpus scaber was introduced to the UK from Chile in 1824
