Gloriosa superba 'Rothschildiana'
A climbing member of the lily family, it climbs by means of tendrils at the tips of the leaves, and grows to about 6-8'. The eye catching red and yellow flowers are borne in the summer. This is the national flower of Zimbabwe, it is used to long seasons of draught followed by short wet seasons, during which it does all its growing and flowering. So to grow successfully, use a rich free draining compost and water only whilst in growth. Re-pot the tubers while dormant.
