Lonicera x heckrottii

Shrubby bushy climber, the scented red and yellow flowers appear July to September. Its difficult to get very enthusiastic about this - it suffers from aphids and mildew and the scent is not as strong as other Honeysuckles, but when in full flower (which it does over a long season) its a bright show and a lot smaller to find space for than some!
Introduced prior to 1895 its a cross between L. sempervirens and L. x americana the selected form Lonicera x heckrottii 'Gold Flame' is not that different.
