Passiflora actinea

An evergreen climber, which uses tendrils to cling to its host. The hanging sea anemone type flowers in blue and white are scented and appear in Spring, can be used outside in the south and west of the uk but elsewhere it does best under glass. (min -1c) Passiflora actinea is unusual for its early flowering habit which I have found difficult outside in the open as the plant most years has not recovered sufficiently from winter in time to flower, I would there advise planting on a warm wall.
