Semele androgyna

Named after the mother of Dionysus from Greek mythology, this leathery leaved evergreen climber comes from the Canaries and Madeira's. Its a touch tender but useful because it will grow in shade (min -1c). The flowers are insignificant but unusual in that they appear on the leaf margins, these are followed in late summer and autumn by bright red berries in bunches.
