EVENTS FOR 2012Clematis "Lasurstern"
(Plant sale dates below)

In addition to the regular Tuesday & Wednesday garden opens (1-6 PM April to September 22nd ) and Charity Sundays for National Garden Scheme on  Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2012 

We are happy to do guided tours of the garden for groups and clubs, times by negotiation. (Group rate is £4.00 per head to include tea & cake)

TALKS

We presently give talks with slides to clubs and societies on:-
"Clematis" - growing, pruning and using in the garden.
"Easy Clematis for hard places" - A look at the National collection of Clematis viticella and some other trouble free clematis
"Climbers" - Raise your expectations with some of the vast range of climbing plants available.
"Maximum effect with Minimum effort" - How we manage this 1 acre garden on 1 man hour per week., definitely NOT a talk on low maintenance gardening, just a fresh look at some of the things we do and why. with lots of ideas to cut the chores.
"Conservatories" - A guide to successful conservatory gardening plus a range of lovely plants to try.
"Madeira a gardeners view" - A look at this garden island as it is in Autumn.
"The 3 Bills" - A talk about those garden favorites the Geraniums, Pelargoniums and Erodiums.
"Height in the garden" - Lots of ideas for achieving that third dimension 
"Coastal California" - Gardens Plants and landscapes of California

Talks run for between one and one and a half hours, depending on the audience's questions.

Devon is about as far as we can reach for a evenings talk without some overnight arrangement.
Charges at present £35 plus 40p per mile traveled for Devon and Cornwall. We do bring plants for sale and would appreciate 2 tables to put them on not in the way of the screen. Beyond Devon talks are £50 Plus 35p per mile and depending on how far, overnight accommodation

 18th   March Tavistock market Plant Heritage (NCCPG) plant fair 10-3pm

25th March The Bishop's Palace, Wells, Somerset 11.00am - 4.00pm  £4.00 per person entry Includes the Palace Gardens, Medieval walls and the natural springs which give the town its name 
 
31st March East Lambroke Manor HPS sale

8th & 9th April Dorothy Clive gardens (10-5) Entry to the 12 acre garden on the plant fair days is £3

14th April Plant Heritage (NCCPG) Plant Sale at Lower Severalls near Crewkerne, Somerset. 

15th April The Old Rectory, Quenington, Nr Cirencester 11.00am - 4.00pm          £4.50 per person Includes the Gardens, which also contain much sculpture with river setting

22nd April Spetchly Park Worcester Plant fair (wonderful walled gardens) Reduced admission price on plant sale day

29th April Birtley House 10.30am - 4.00pm 


7th  May Plant Heritage (NCCPG)  plant hunters fair Longstock gardens Hampshire 10am Beer tent, jazz band and catering on site. More details for garden and nursery

13th May Cornwall HPS plant sale at Truro Cattle market 10 till 2pm, 25 plus nurseries, free entry masses of free parking, on site catering and toilets.

19th  May Yarlington House Nr Wincanton Somerset 10-4pm Charity plant sale entry £2.50 includes garden
26th May National Memorial Arboretum  10-5 Free entry to fair and gardens

27th May Kingston Bagpuize

  3rd June and Monday 4th June Hobnet Hall £2.50 entry includes 63 acres of gardens

23rd June Sunbury walled garden British Clematis society's Clematis Day Free entry some back ground information on the walled gardens which contain a range of Clematis supplied and maintained by the British Clematis Society
