Pond

The old pond is a modest one 20' X 8' and was our first project in the garden (anything to avoid redecorating the house!)

The large Eucalyptus aggregata which we grew from seed used to overhang this pond but has now died, it never was ideal but we never expected it to do so well! The pond houses the usual wildlife, Frogs Toads and two species of Newt. The whole garden is home for many large Dragonflies of several species which hunt any insects the Swallows miss during the Summer! Keeping the fish is tricky, spotted a grass snake taking one last year and the Black birds take the tiddlers as well as tadpoles
