Rosa
'Trenance Clethera'
On the Roseland
peninsular in Cornwall is a wonderful garden called Trenance it is wild and
overgrown and full of Roses, the owner Mrs. Yvonne Matthews had
been breeding roses to do well in her garden which has coastal
exposure and the normal damp climate of Cornwall, this one is
named after her daughter. This rose is almost thornless, large
rambler sprays of small single pale pink scented flowers in
summer, followed by a good crop of hips, it is tough and black spot resistant.
Works really well in more wild and relaxed garden settings. Although Yvonne is
sadly no longer with us her roses lives on to remind us each summer of the
shared interest in plants we had with her
