Calceolaria
pavonii
This is a very tall (2-3M) perennial
which would remain evergreen in mild areas but otherwise dieing back to a root
stock and reappearing the following year, not totally hardy (min -2c) but will over winter
fine at the base of a warm wall and provide a lot of late summer and autumn
interest when it is covered with its yellow slipper flowers set against the
wonderful large furry leaves. It appears to originate in Chile.
