Canna x ehemanii

Sometimes called Canna iridiflora this is a tall (6'+) Canna with large leaves. Grown in the ground it will die back in winter and flower July on (provided the ground does not freeze), however in mild gardens and when protected it can be evergreen and flower much earlier (min +1c)The flowers are carried in dropping bunches of dusky pink. Precautions against slugs and snails are required if the leaves are to look their best! It can of course be treated like any other Canna and lifted and protected in winter.
