Hedychium spicatum

A leafy perennial with highly scented cream white and red flowers on tall spike at the end of the summer, site in a warm spot (not necessarily sunny) to ensure flowering starts before the end of the year, for us this starts flowering in August. Mulch the rhizomes in winter to protect them from frost or lift. Height 4' One of the easiest grow, and the flowering period is at the early end of the Hedychium spectrum.
