Salvia grahamii

Sometimes called the blackcurrant sage from the scent of it leaves, Salvia grahamii is an evergreen shrub, hardy in the south and west (min -6c), worth conservatory cultivation elsewhere due to its long flowering season (9 months outside/ all year indoors) The flowers are bright red borne near the shoot tips.
