Jasminum sambacThis lovely evergreen climber has large (for a jasmine) white highly scented flowers from late spring to winter these are double to semi double. The leaves are entire and leathery. Only suitable for outdoors in gardens which remain frost-free (min 0c). Jasminum sambac is good under cold greenhouse conditions. I am hearing of gardens in central London where this is doing well but most of us should regard it as a conservatory plant. Slow to start it eventually makes a large vigorous climber. Came originally from northern India and Himalayas but often referred to as Arabian Jasmine. and found in warm climates around the word, it is the national flower of Indonesia. |
