Lonicera henryi

A vigorous, truly evergreen twiner, it has long dark green leathery leaves, it is tough and will grow anywhere. The brick red and yellow flowers have little or no scent they appear in June and July and are followed by black berries.
Lonicera henryi comes from Western China and was introduced in 1908 a selected form L. henryi 'subcoriacea' appeared in 1910 and is probably the only form now in cultivation in the UK.

This is often dismissed because it has no scent, yet it is one of the most handsome of the reliably hardy evergreen climbers
