Clematis 'Carmencita'

Deep pink to red flowers, dark anthers, the tepals have darker shadings, at first glance it looks like 'Kermesina' but the flower is rounder and does not have the green tips early in the season, side by side they are easy to tell apart. Hard prune and any aspect, it will produce a mass of flower July to September. Clematis 'Carmencita' was raised by Magnus Johnson in 1952 from seed of 'Grandiflora Sanguinea' like 'Sodertalje' from the same batch of seed, it is part of the viticella collection.
