Clematis montana 'Wilsonii'

Clematis 'Wilsonii' has highly scented white flowers, flowering in May-July. It is the latest flowering of the montanas and has one of the strongest scents with hints of warm chocolate. For best results plant in sun or semi shade but will grow in any aspect, avoid frost pockets which can cause loss of flower buds in spring. No prune.

This original introduction by Wilson in 1909 seems lost to cultivation it flowered in Autumn, the plant here listed and now sold as 'Wilsonii' flowers later than most montana's
