Aconitum hemsleyanum

This herbaceous climbing Aconitum has soft violet purple hooded flowers in late summer and autumn. It has good foliage all season. For some reason I have found it flowers better if its roots are restricted, but it may just prefer the moister soil.. Aconitum hemsleyanum will do well in sun or partial shade in any reasonable soil (does not like water logging) Like most Aconitum it is toxic.
