Buddleja madagascariensis

Allthough I have for many years believed this to be madergascariensis I think it should be Buddleja x nicodemus a hybrid of madagascariensis and crispa

Tall evergreen shrub with white/grey felty leaves and scented orange yellow flowers all Autumn/winter, . It is a typical Buddleja in that it tolerates poor soils and dry conditions. As the name implies one of its parents came from Madagascar and arrived in the UK in 1827 the other B. crispa gives this the ability to stand UK winters outside if given some wall protection (min -8c)
